My Story

Hi, I’m Mark, a mobile Personal Trainer and nutrition coach based in Aldridge in the West Midlands, where I live with my wife Jane.

I have always been an active guy, with football being my passion in younger years (I won’t tell you which team I support – let’s just say there’s been a lot of heartache!)

My love for weight training began in my early twenties when a close pal purchased a bench and barbell. I was immediately hooked.

However, my diet was always shocking! No vegetables or salads (never!), Greggs for lunch daily, Chips and beans for dinner,  regular fatty desserts and a decent quota of alcohol. And I smoked for 39 years!

It was only in my late forties that I started to become aware of how damaging my diet and habits were, I guess via social media, magazines and through my gym contacts. At fifty I quit smoking, met the wonderful woman who subsequently became my wife and who helped me to completely change my diet.

Next came me hiring a Personal Trainer. I was so impressed at how this helped me get in the best shape of my life and to understand exactly how things should be done – I thought I’d like to do that! Fast forward to now and I’m a fully qualified fitness and nutrition Personal Trainer, having gained the qualification with the European Institute of Fitness (EiF).

I decided that I would focus on the over forties age group, as that’s where I was when I started to turn things around (been there, done it so to speak). I understand the difficulties and barriers that many people in their forties and beyond encounter and I’m intently focussed and passionate about helping people to improve lifestyles, keep up with the grandkids for many years to come(!), and live happier and healthier.

Best wishes,

Mark – EiF Master Trainer

FAQ’s

What should I expect from a Personal Trainer?

Apart from knowing their stuff and being able to show you how to train correctly and effectively and improve your diet, you should choose a PT who will listen to you and understand your concerns. A good PT will not dictate, but rather will work with you to create a personalised plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. They will offer guidance and support and explain how and why the plan will work. The plan should be regularly reviewed and tweaked as required. The PT should be available outside of your one-to-one sessions to answer questions and provide support. The PT should challenge you, hold you accountable and be your partner and friend on your fitness journey.

A good consultation is an opportunity for both you and your personal trainer to determine if you’re a good fit for each other. During the consultation, I will get to know all about you and your background, discuss your fitness goals and define what success looks like to you. We’ll also explore your previous experience and motivations for change, alongside any concerns or issues you may have and questions moving forward. This open conversation sets the foundation for a successful training partnership.

The program will be individual to you. We will discuss and review this at every session. You must be able to enjoy this journey. We will set short term specific smart targets that are aimed at you achieving your overall objectives.

There are a number of factors that affect this, such as your starting point, your specific goals, genetics, individual body composition, support mechanisms, consistency, effort etc.

Many people will experience improvements in their physical and mental wellbeing within the first few weeks – more energy, better sleep, a boost in mood.

From day 1 you can be assured that you will have a plan in place, with the motivation and guidance you need, that will get results.

Personal Training and nutrition is an investment in yourself. The real cost is not maximising your potential to live a longer, healthier and happier life!

Individual sessions cost £50 -£60 per hour (dependant on distance).

My 6-week kickstart program is £270.

12-week programs are £1000 (2 x per week) or £1440 (3 x per week)

Ask me about other alternatives or frequencies.

Do you have a partner or friend/s who want to do this with you, together? If so, this can significantly reduce the cost e.g. an individual hour session would be £30 for 2 people, £25 for 3 people.

A 12 week 2 x per week program would be £700 each for 2 people.

No, you’re not!
